These instructions are for XP
Internet mail customers who need to make settings changes following our mail
server upgrade. WebKraft Wireless mail users are set up correctly as they are. The
old settings will work initially but we want everyone to have these modifications
done as soon as possible. When we make the server swap everyone will need to REBOOT THEIR COMPUTER before checking
their e-mail the first time.
These instructions are for
Windows Mail users only. Windows Mail is found on all Vista machines and is the
default mail program. The settings changes are the same regardless of what mail
program you use. Where to find each setting may vary but the information is all
the same.
The changes we are making are:
· Login name: login@xpinternet.net
· POP3 mail server: pop3.xpinternet.net
· SMTP mail server: smtp.xpinternet.net
· Check the box that says “My server requires authentication”
· Change the outgoing SMTP port to 2500
These settings are all the same for every mail program including Outlook, Outlook Express, Incredimail, Eudora, Thunderbird, Mac Mail, etc. To see examples of most of these other mail program setups click on the link http://www.webkraftwireless.net/mailsettings.htm and click on the link below the logos. Simply replace xpinternet.net whenever you see webkraftwireless.net or webkraft-hs.net in the example.
Let’s get started:
Open Windows Mail.
At the top of the screen you
will see a menu with File, Edit, View, Tools, etc.
Click on Tools
Click on Accounts
You will see the window below appear. If your system checks more than one mail account you may see several mail accounts listed. Click on the account you use for your XP Internet mail account to highlight it then click on Properties to the right. You can also double click on the mail account and perform the same action.

The first screen you can see is the General tab. From here you can make a change if you want to by retyping the name you want to appear on the email you send but no changes are necessary.

Click on the Servers Tab up top.
Currently your POP3 and SPTP mail server settings say mail.xpinternet.net. These settings will still work initially but our standard settings are listed in the window below. The POP3 mail server settings that we like to use are pop3.xpinternet.net and the SMTP server is smtp.xpinternet.net.
The second change we have to make is to add your entire e-mail address to the login name field. Be sure to type your ENTIRE E-MAIL ADDRESS including the @xpinternet.net part of it.
The third change that we have to make is to check the box labeled “My server requires authentication”. You can click on the Settings button if you choose to and see that the first radio button is selected by default. The radio button says “Use same settings as my incoming mail server”.

Below is the Settings box for authentication.
Click OK to close the Outgoing Mail Server Window
Clidk on the Advanced tab up top
Change the Outgoing mail (SMTP): port to 2500
Click Apply then OK
When the changes are complete and we are done click all of the OK buttons to close the open windows. Close your mail program and reopen it. Try sending a piece of mail to yourself and then click on the Send/Receive button up top on the toolbar to check for it right away. If you sent the piece out and then received it you are working correctly. Repeat this for every mail account you have with XP.
Webmail will be moving to our server as well and looks a bit different than the ole Modus mail system. The address for accessing it is http://webmail.xpinternet.net . Type in your entire e-mail address for the username and enter your password to log in.
We can remotely log into your computer and make these changes if necessary. Just contact our office and then click http://www.webkraftwireless.net/rescue.htm to get remote assistance via WebKraft Rescue.
